Scottsdale Arizona AZ Dermatology Dermatologist

Face, Neck and Chest
Spider veins can also be of cosmetic concern to our patients. The small, red colored blood vessels on the face, neck and chest are often the result of past sun exposure or rosacea. They can also be seen in patients with a fair complexion. Other causes are previous pregnancy, usage of the birth control or from chronic alcohol. We now offer the latest in laser therapy for spider veins. These lesions can now be treated quickly in our office without any unsightly crusting or bruising after the treatment session.

Legs
A procedure known as sclerotherapy has been around since the 1930's to clear unsightly blood vessels on the skin, especially the legs.  We offer a mild sclerotherapy injection solution to gently irritate the lining of the spider vein, and cause it to gradually disappear after several weeks.

Sclerotherapy treatments are typically performed several weeks apart and are associated with minimal discomfort.  Dr. Mowbray limits his practice to the treatment of spider veins and does not inject larger varicose veins nor any vessels that cause discomfort.  The treated vessels typically turn a deep blue or purple color for one to three weeks, and this time of healing is accelerated if the patient wears a good support hose.  There is no physical limitation after the treatment.

Our new vascular LASER is available to treat spider veins that are very small in diameter with minimal discomfort and no down time.
