We are pleased to offer our patients the benefits of Chemical Peels for skin rejuvenation and in treatment of acne.  We offer various strengths of Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (Glycolic Acid) or TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) to better match your needs to the procedureThese low pH solutions are an effective way to exfoliate the skin and stimulate a revitalized and more fresh-looking epidermis.  Many types of patients can benefit from either a single or a series of Chemical Peels which can play a vital role in improving either a mottled complexion of pigmented spots, skin roughness or acne comedones.  The milder solutions have very little down time, aside from several days of skin peeling, not unlike a mild sunburn.  Patients with more complex epidermal damage would do better to have a TCA peel which causes more exfoliation to the epidermis and higher strengths of TCA can affect the upper dermis and improve fine lines.

Our office would be pleased to educate you about your various Chemical Peel options.  We can walk you through the process of a Chemical Peel and “prime” your skin in the weeks prior to you procedure to ensure a more even response to the chemical peel solution and encourage accelerated healing after the procedure.  To this end, we encourage patients to be on a combination of a topical retinoid cream, such as Retin A and also a Hydroquinone Fade Cream during the weeks leading up to your procedure.  This protocol is more important with the medium strength chemical peels containing TCA, while the milder strength of chemical peels do not necessarily have to go through this “priming” process.

Chemical Peels are one way to rejuvenate aging skin damaged by years of sun exposure.  We also offer skin care products for sale in the office which contain important beneficial compounds, such as Alpha Hydroxy Acid or one of the many anti-oxidants felt to be helpful in decreasing free radicals within the skin and lessening damage to the supporting collagen and elastin molecules within the dermis.

One proven anti-oxidant compound is topical Vitamin C, and we offer an excellent skin care product by Topix Pharmaceuticals to promote healthy skin collagen.

Please give our office a call so that we can inform you about the positive skin rejuvenation techniques we offer.  Patients can choose from a variety of options, starting with a Skin Care Program and progressing to Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, BOTOX injections, and Skin Fillers for deeper wrinkles and creases.

Our new LASER is the latest technique to help tighten the collagen in the upper dermis and soften fine lines.  It is also effective in clearing unsightly redness on the face and also removing spider veins.  The LASER has a role in skin rejuvenation of pigmented areas, clearing the brownish discoloration of sun-damaged skin and also clear pigmented lesions or liver spots.
